Blank Canvas DAO

Challenge

A website which allowed users to draw out their imagination on a canvas and convert it into an NFT was to be redesigned and many new features and flows were to be integrated into the web application.

Process

The project began with having meetings with the product team which helped in understanding the scope of the project. The design team shared the new UI designs for the website which I were thorough thoroughly, it helped me understand the website and it's flow better. The existing codebase of the website was carefully reviewed and notes for methods and patterns used by the previous developer and possible places of improvement were identified and shared with the team. On getting approval for the changes, A plan was created to systematically refresh the look of the website and then add the requested new features and flows into the web application. Adding new packages was avoided in order to ensure the web application remains fast and efficient for the end user and the already installed packages were used. Since it was an existing project, I preferred to work closely with the team and have daily stand ups in order to ensure things are done in an orderly manner and we could avoid re-doing the tasks as much as possible. The team reviewed the final output on a staging environment and once the new designs, new features, new flows and the mentioned bug fixes and changes were approved. The existing version of the website was replaced with the refreshed version.

Outcome

A newly looking website was made available to the public. The release allowed users to submit multiple drawings for a given canvas, view the statuses of their submissions, listen to songs on spotify player, etc
